Preschool
The Village Preschool provides an exciting and challenging environment for children preparing to go to school.
In this area children prepare for the challenge of school. The emergent curriculum provides opportunities for children to pursue individual interests using a variety of mediums to research, discover and explore. Our experienced teachers are passionate about learning and are committed to a learning environment where children feel safe to be risk takers, challenge themselves and feel empowered to take ownership of their own learning. We aim to enhance children’s sense of themselves as capable and confident learners.
Children in this area gain increasing independence in preparation for school. Teachers support children to become familiar with early literacy and numeracy concepts, and there are opportunities for children to experiment with literacy and numeracy in all areas of the programme. Our Cool for School programme helps to prepare children for a successful transition to school.
The discovery garden adjacent to the preschool is a popular area for exploration and discovery. This wild space along with our vegetable gardens, worm farms and focus on sustainability provides children with the opportunity to explore and learn about the natural world.
